When is the event? The event will be celebrated on the feast day of Our Lady of Fatima, Friday, May 13, 2005.

Where will the event be held? The event will be held inside the Cotton Bowl at Fair Park in downtown Dallas.

What is the cost of admission? There is no admission cost. Join 50,000 others in prayerfully celebrating this holy event.  There is an $8 parking fee for all regular vehicles.  Buses park FREE and should enter through parking GATE 7.

What time does the program begin? Praise and Worship (music) will begin at 7:00 p.m. The Eucharistic Procession will begin promptly at 8:00 p.m. There will be open seating so come early to enjoy the music and absorb the spirit of the crowd.

What time will the gates open for admittance? Gates will open at 6:00 p.m.

What time will the program end? We project the Evening of Adoration to end between 9:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.

Who is sponsoring this event? The event is being planned by the Eucharistic Family Rosary Crusade, Inc. This event has the endorsement of the Diocese of Dallas.

Why is the event being held? 2005 is officially the Year of the Eucharist. “The Body and Blood of Christ, present in the sacrament of the Eucharist, are the living synthesis of the whole history of salvation.” In the words of our Holy Father John Paul II, “this year will serve to recognize in the Eucharist the root and secret of the spiritual life of the faithful, as well as of every initiative of the local Church.” The year 2004 was the year of the Rosary and we also honor our Blessed Mother by the recitation of the living, global Rosary. A profound public event with choirs, rosary and benediction will reunite and reinvigorate our pride and faith in being Catholic.

Will there be special parking for the event? We have negotiated with the Cotton Bowl administration and will have use of parking within the Fair Park grounds.  Parking is $8 for all regular vehicles.  Buses park FREE. Signs will be displayed and volunteers will direct you to parking areas.

Will there be handicap parking and seating? Yes, the Cotton Bowl has handicap accommodations.

What other travel arrangements have been made? Negotiations are underway with DART. Bus rides will be available at a price to be determined shortly.  We are hopeful that church groups will charter buses to encourage attendance.

Will buses be available for parishes outside of Dallas County? Parishes must contact their local bus companies to arrange for transportation.

What if large groups from areas outside of Dallas want to attend? We anticipate that we will be joined by such groups, and encourage transportation by buses.

Where may I get additional information? For further information, call toll free 1-877-509-5050 during the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The telephone will be answered during these hours. After hours, a recording will direct callers to our official website, www.globalrosary.org.

Who is participating in the service? The faithful from many dioceses in Texas will participate, as well as our sister diocese in Honduras! The Living Cultural Family Rosary will be comprised of people representing the various cultures around the world.

What languages will be spoken during the event? The Rosary prayers will be offered in various languages, with each decade representing a specific culture from around the world.

What will take place at the Eucharistic Family Rosary Crusade? The evening will begin with a Praise and Worship service from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. More than 50,000 people are expected to fill the stadium, in advance of the Eucharistic Procession. Three hundred (300) people, including Bishops, local priests, deacons, sisters, diocesan organizations and multicultural groups in native dress will process in with Bishop Charles V. Grahmann. The Eucharistic Procession will begin at 8:00 p.m. Upon entering the field, Bishop Grahmann will place the Eucharist on a raised altar. Sixty five (65) people will form the beads of the Global Living Rosary and encircle the altar on the field. The complete program will include recitation of the Holy Rosary, followed by an address from a featured speaker. The evening will close with Benediction. We project the Evening of Adoration to conclude between 9:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.

Will I need to take my rosary? You may bring your personal rosary. Rosaries will be given to the first 50,000 attendees along with a pamphlet on how to pray the rosary. A generous supporter, the Father Patrick Peyton, CSC Foundation, has donated the rosaries and pamphlets for this event!

Will the rosaries you distribute be blessed? The rosaries will be blessed at the event by the Bishops in attendance.

Will there be religious items for sale at the Cotton Bowl? In keeping with the holy nature of the evening, there will be NO SALES of any items including religious articles.  T-shirts commemorating and supporting the event can be purchased online before and after the event.  Click here for t-shirts.

What about the availability of food or water?   There will be food, soft drinks and water available for sale outside the stadium in the east and west plaza areas. There will be no food sold or allowed to be brought inside the actual stadium. However, soft drinks and water will be sold and allowed to be brought inside the actual stadium.  No “outside” food or beverages will be allowed inside the stadium pursuant to the concessions contract with the Cotton Bowl.

Are video equipment and / or cameras permitted into the Cotton Bowl?   Personal cameras ARE allowed to be taken into the Cotton Bowl.

Is the program limited to Catholics? We are inviting other faiths to join us as we celebrate and proclaim our faith in God.

How are you publicizing this event? Various media will be used to deliver our messages. YOU are a major participant in praying for, promoting, as well as being present at the event, thereby ensuring a one of a kind celebration.

How will specific parishes or lay organizations be identified in the crowd? Should groups plan to sit together? It will most likely be difficult for very large groups to sit together, although such grouping is not discouraged unless it is restrictive and non inclusive to other attendees. We come together as one body in Christ.

What is the special intention, prayer of the rosary? The intention of the rosary will be for unity and peace within our families, our community and the world. Each decade will be preceded by a meditation.

What mysteries will be prayed? We will pray the Luminous mysteries.

What are the plans in case of inclement weather? Although umbrellas will be allowed in the case of rain, please bring your ponchos so that we limit the use of umbrellas and anything that might obstruct the view of the Eucharist on the field.

Will there be an emergency First Aid station? Yes, for an event of this size, we will take precautions to ensure the safety of attendees and will staff a First Aid station. Our contract with the Cotton Bowl dictates the terms and conditions for the security of the event.
